Principal newsletter week 4

Dear ELSS parents, carers and community,

I hope this finds you healthy and safe. Communication is important during our response to COVID-19 so this Principal newsletter today will be followed on Friday with a full school newsletter.

Students

If students are unwell they must stay at home.

If you have a link to any people or places advised by Queensland Health, you must get tested and stay home until you receive your results. However if you are still unwell and cleared of COVID, you must stay at home.

Pick-up

Please ensure all adults are social distancing outside our gates. This serves as the response to Queenlsnad health and role models to our students.

If driving to our Stop, Drop and Go you must display surname on your dashboard or visor. This can be the ELSS sign or written on a piece of paper. My staff cannot put their head in the car window to hear surnames for obvious health reasons.

Photos

Photo Day is nearly here! Queensland School Photography will be taking our school photos on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please ensure that your child is in full school uniform. The uniform guidelines are on the website; this link will take you there-

Jeans for Genes day-

Student Council Jeans for Genes Day is this Friday 7 August. Students are allowed to wear their jeans and bring a gold coin donation to support this iconic fundraising campaign of Children’s Medical Research Institute. Students who do not wish to wear jeans are expected to be in full school uniform. Please note this is not a free dress day so all other aspects of school uniform is to be followed. Please see previous school newsletter for full details.

Continue-

  • To support our work, please be reminded of the two foundations of Edens Landing State School- Positive Relationships and High Expectations.
  • Our school supervision starts at 8.30am, please do not drop students at school early, we cannot ensure safety.
  • Our three PBL school wide expectations are: At ELSS I am SAFE, I am RESPECTFUL and I am a LEARNER.

Thanks for being Partners in learning. Keeping your child/ren and our student/s safe is my priority.
